Philly FM Fest: Ska/Punk Night @ The Fire.

September 24, 2011

Jukebox Romantics lead singer Chris Schultz (center) showed up for a night of NY/ NJ suburban angst, ska/ punk sounds at The Fire in a Mets jersey.

“I thought I’d play in Philly in a Mets jersey and be facetious and all,” he screamed between songs to a sparse crowd of maybe 20 people. “But Philly didn’t show up.”

Bass player Michael Stratton added, “Thanks for ruining the joke, assholes.”

The Romantics played a tight, rambunctious set and by the time they were done, the crowd had probably doubled.

The Snails, Let Me Crazy and Two Fisted Law were also on the lineup, which was technically part of the Philly FM Fest, with headliner Hub City Stompers (below). On Saturday, The Fire is hosting more Philly FM stuff (for FREE!): Kuf Knotz, Hunter’s Cannon, Ron Gallo, Ella Dars, Yikes!, The Weeds, Joe Duffey’s Underwater Window Garden, Tuhs & Fuhs, Lady, and Sunshine Superman

Let Me Crazy will play at Jose Pistola’s Sunday evening.
